We have two bird houses mounted in our back yard. One is mounted on a metal post outside the sunroom where we can easily watch the bluebirds bringing food for their young. The other is on the side of our storage shed about 75 feet away at the back of the yard where we can watch the tree swallow activity with binoculars.
One of the first things I did with my new Canon EOS R7 camera was to take several RAW Burst sequences of the tree swallows and the bluebirds (please see the Definitions page for an explanation of RAW Burst).
The slide show below is a RAW Burst sequence of 29 photos of two tree swallows which were all taken within one second through my 200 mm telephoto lens, as the two parents approached or left the nesting box while bringing food to their young .
At the start of this sequence, one parent is in the opening of the nesting box and the other appears at the lower left of the image. As the new arrival approaches the nesting box, the other dives out of the opening and they pass in mid-air.
