Directions:
From the New River Gorge Bridge on Rt. 19, go north about 0.75 mi. and turn right (east) on Lansing-Edmond Rd. (Rt. 82) and follow it for 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Beauty Mountain Road, a gravel track, and follow it for 0.1 miles, then bear left to stay on Beauty Mountain Road (unmarked). Follow it for 1.4 more miles. Where Buckhorn Road (paved road) turns left, stay straight on Beauty Mountain Road (also unmarked) for 100 feet or so, to several small pullouts on both sides of the road. There are no signs, facilities, or railings at the pullouts and along the trail. The path to the overlooks is immediately to the right as you go down the small hill to the pull-offs. The overlook is a series of rock ledges over the gorge with interconnecting paths. The Beauty Mountain Trail is mostly flat because it follows a ridge line and is about 3/4 of a mile to the Rams Head overlook, which offers a 180 degree view of the New River Gorge.
The GPS location near the pullouts is 38°2’41.898″ N, 81°1’27.51″ W. This is a link to Google Maps.
