Beverly and I spent a week in Arizona and California spanning the recent New Year’s holiday. We originally planned to spend some time with my niece and her friend in Phoenix, but her travel plans changed and she didn’t go. We went anyway because we were also planning on spending time with Beverly’s son who lives in Los Angeles and would meet us at Palm Springs and Joshua Tree.
We flew from Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (SHD) to Chicago (ORD) and then Phoenix (PHX) and returned the same way. That service is very convenient if you are flying west or southwest. The featured photo (above) was taken shortly before we arrived at Chicago on the trip out, while the other one in the Additional Photos section was taken shortly after we left Chicago on the trip home.
